Scalable, customizable integrated security platforms ensure a distributed workforce can collaborate while following global compliance standards.

SEATTLE -- November 5, 2013 -- WatchGuard Technologies, a leader in integrated security platforms, today announced that ACS Aviation Solutions, has deployed WatchGuard's unified threat management (UTM) platform to deliver bulletproof security and centralized management to its distributed global network of aircraft safety and compliance consultants. WatchGuard enables ACS to protect its confidential and highly sensitive data while expanding its business internationally.

ACS Aviation Solutions is a small enterprise with a considerably large network management requirement. ACS has approximately 20 power users working across three offices, plus another 50 auditors and field workers who require remote access around the world. Given the nature of ACS's work, all data is highly confidential and security is paramount as it routinely communicates with global regulatory bodies.

"WatchGuard appliances are not just firewalls, they are vital components in our global infrastructure that even enabled an entire office to maintain uptime during a service outage," Jorge Silveira, IT Manager of ACS Aviation Solutions said. "We run an enterprise-grade infrastructure with virtual machines, thin clients, physical computers, high availability servers, Windows services, backups and more. Thanks to WatchGuard, our network is now an asset and not a liability."

ACS deployed a second WatchGuard UTM platform to suit its continued global expansion. The second device created a secure site-to-site connection and a highly reliable virtual private network (VPN) tunnel. The company also set the system up so that all activity on one server would be replicated
in the company's other location in real time, which created a redundant and secure network.

The result - a secure network that hosts the company intranet, supports collaboration due to ease of document sharing, and provides reliable, robust disaster recovery capability.

"WatchGuard appliances are easy to use, have an excellent user interface, and they offer enterprise-grade features at low cost," Silveira said. "They are like having a doorman on our network that monitors who has access to our data instead of letting in any stranger. WatchGuard has definitely assisted ACS with its continuing international business expansions by providing office-to-office communication and a pretty bulletproof disaster recovery system."
