World's largest supplier of food and beverage services for travelers chooses WatchGuard firewalls for combination of security and performance

SEATTLE - October 24, 2014 - WatchGuard Technologies, a leader in multi-function firewalls, today announced it has partnered with HMSHost, the global restaurateur, to secure its networks around the world. The company has deployed hundreds of WatchGuard Unified Threat Management (UTM) firewall appliances, and heavily utilizes the award-winning* WatchGuard Dimension security visibility tool to instantly isolate and distill key network security threats, issues and trends.

HMSHost operates in more than 100 airports around the globe, including 20 of North America's busiest, and 99 motorway locations in North America. The company delivers dining solutions for travelers from a portfolio of award-winning national, local and proprietary restaurant brands. WatchGuard helps HMSHost address the security challenges associated with managing and securing the networks at these dining locations by offering a complete set of security services, including Packet Filtering, Intrusion Prevention, Application Control, WebBlocker, Gateway AntiVirus, spamBlocker, Reputation Enabled Defense, Data Loss Prevention and Advanced Persistent Threat Protection.

"We have hundreds of food and beverage locations throughout airports and motorways worldwide, and thousands and thousands of employees and customers that rely on the networks at these locations. Network security is critical to keeping their data, our data, and the customer's data safe," said HMSHost Chief Information Officer, Sarah Naqvi. "We choose to work with WatchGuard because they not only had the best combination of security services, performance and affordability, but also because they had great reporting capabilities for PCI so we can more easily ensure compliance standards are met."

"HMSHost has deployed hundreds of our appliances around the world and more than 200 of them are reporting data back into WatchGuard Dimension. This enables the company to quickly identify problems, threats or trends, and also allows them to proactively evaluate policies in real-time and instantly produce reports for IPS, Servers and much more," said Alex Thurber, vice president of sales at WatchGuard. "We're excited to be working with HMSHost. They're proof that with a great management console and visibility solution, you can powerfully integrate hundreds of security devices across a very disparate network to keep it secure."
